Located to the far west of the Wirral, in close proximity to the stunning Hilbre Island Nature Reserve, Castree Architectural and Interior Design is a renowned practice of some 20 years standing. Established by Design Director, Sue Evans (NDD, MCSD), the team offers a multidisciplinary approach to renovation, refurbishment and new build projects alike, whether for private or commercial customers.
Past clients have included yacht, mansion and chalet owners, as well as prestigious retail brands such as Aquascutum and Laura Ashley. Commercial contracts for companies such as Rolls-Royce, Warner Leisure and an array of hotel groups have been fulfilled alongside small domestic projects for local homeowners.
As well as managing turnkey conversion projects for her clients, Sue has converted the lower part of her three-storey home to provide well-equipped offices for her team, whilst up the first flight of stairs a former dressing room was transformed into a bathroom some 25 years ago;
“When we made this alteration several years ago we discovered that the mains drains were located to the front of the building - quite a distance from the new bathroom. Thanks to our knowledge as architectural and interior designers, we knew that a Saniflo macerator pump would be able to solve the drainage issue by discharging waste through small bore pipework that ran along the floor to the cloakroom at the front of the house.”
The unit was duly installed and has provided a quarter of a century of trouble-free service. In 2016 the old Saniflo was finally replaced with a new Saniplus, which is obscured from view thanks to the built-in units. The new unit is super quiet - although, Sue says, the original Saniflo was never a distraction;
“I do notice the difference with the new unit, but the noise never bothered us. This bathroom is the most used in the house, so the fact that the Saniflo provided 25 years of consistent service is testament to the quality and durability of the product. It has lived through a fair amount of misuse from 3 grandchildren; we've simply called our plumber and he's sorted it out each time.”
Based on her own good experience Sue doesn't hesitate to specify the whole range of Saniflo pumps in client projects. Knowing what they are capable of helps the company to advise on change of use, particularly in cellars, basements, lofts etc; enabling jobs to go ahead that would otherwise be prohibitive cost wise.
“Between my plumber, the Saniflo technical team and my own knowledge we have become adept at selecting the right unit for any given job and don't ever hesitate to recommend a Saniflo solution to clients. They are a real problem solver.”
